I Need help grilling!?

I am not an avid griller, I love the taste of steak on a grill when others make it and I have tried here and there to gill myself. The problem always lies in the grill never gets as hot as i would like. I have a typical size Weber grill, not gas. I have tried to use a ton of fluid I also try to use the coal that comes with the fluid built in. So I light it let it sit and throw the food on but still it never gets to the pint that there is a extremely hot point of the grill to char food. I hope you can help me with this because I love to grill food, I just suck at it.

It sounds like you are rushing things.
The coals need to get really hot and that takes time 15+ minutes, depending upon the quantity of charcoal you use, and the height the tray is from the heat.
